Summary
In the centre of the present research were life and creativity of the outstanding English thinker, reformer, translator of the Bible into English language William Tyndale (1494–1536).
Appreciating W. Tyndale’s role in English Reformation it is necessary to underline that its main merit consisted that he gave his people the Bible which could understand both the scientist and the commoner as it has been translated from original sources on a live language available to its comprehension. Having absorbed since the childhood expression, wisdom and beauty of native speech, the English translator has given the chance to the biblical word shine new sides, without violating its divine essence. As has shown the done analysis, the reformer has created an excellent translation all subsequent Bible translations on English language were adjusted on it, like on a tuning-fork.
Along with Bible translations Tyndale created great reformatory and polemical writings vernakulyare, played an important role in the formation of the English national language. In an ideological heritage of the English thinker have found reflection prominent features of the European humanistic and Reformation movement. In his bible studies Tyndale much borrowed from predecessors — John Wyclif and the Lollards, and contemporaries — humanists and protestants (primarily Erasmus and Martin Luther) in the interpretation of God, the world and the man. The statement of the individual rights in the comprehension of biblical literature, on the one hand, and increase in possibilities for the Christian
